Deep in My Heart: Photos of What Texans Love About Texas

We're making a family album of all the things Texans love about Texas, and we want your help! Use the form below to upload your photo and story.

What do you love most about Texas? The stars at night? The sage in bloom? The prairie sky?

Deep in the heart of Texas, is nature...and Texas is deep in all our hearts.

Texas legislators love Texas, too. And in the 2011 legislative session, they’ll have a great opportunity to protect Texas’ air, water and natural spaces. Lawmakers will be considering legislation that sets the framework for energy and environmental regulation for the next decade. It’s the perfect time to talk about what makes our corner of the Creation so special, and how we can keep it safe and sound for generations to come.

We all know a picture is worth 1,000 words. So to celebrate your love of Texas—and remind legislators why it’s so important to protect it—send us your favorite picture of yourself or your loved ones, out in the natural beauty of Texas. You know the one we mean: your latest campout..your grandkids in the bluebonnets...your trip to the beach......maybe just a shot of you relaxing in your own yard. Along with your photo, be sure to tell us a little bit about it, and why it sums up what's so important about Texas for you.

All the photos we get, we’ll display in the State Capitol during the 2011 legislative session. We’ll also post them online throughout 2010.
