New Report Shows Texas Health Care System Among the Worst
A new report by the Commonwealth Fund ranks Texas' health care system among the worst in the 50 states. Factors in the state rankings included uninsured rates, quality of care, avoidable hospital use and costs, equity, and healthy lives.
The report's authors say their findings underscore the need for federal and state action to improve health care systems throughout the nation. Health care promises to be a major issue in the upcoming presidential campaigns, so it's likely there will be more reports like the Commonwealth Fund report that attempt to develop frameworks for understanding American health care policy.
