Interfaith Conference Call on Upcoming Texas Environmental Opportunities

This is a big year for the environment in Texas, and people of all faiths have an important role to play. When we work together, we can speak with a strong and unified voice and make a real impact in efforts to protect creation, human health, and those most vulnerable among us—children, the elderly and the poor.

That’s why Texas Impact is hoping you will join us for an informative conference call on Wednesday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. The aim of the call is to provide updates on key issues, share information about initiatives and resources, and to hear from you about local interests and needs.

To register for this conference call, fill out the form below or simply send an e-mail to amanda@texasimpact.org. Call-in numbers will be e-mailed to registered participants in advance of the call.

We’ll get you up to speed on some key issues, including:

* The Sunset review of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ);
* Reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act to protect the most vulnerable members of our population from the dangers of toxic chemicals; and
* Comprehensive climate change legislation.

In addition, we have some exciting initiatives to share with you:

* A postcard campaign;
* Our “Deep in the Heart” photo campaign; and
* A rally and lobby day in Austin scheduled for December, 2010.
